Super Stars and Super Cars
Cars for men are like jewellery for women – they represent status, style and personality. Super Stars of South Indian cinema also use their cars to make a fashion statement. The cars they drive are very much reflective of their individual persona both on-screen and off-screen. Here is our take on some of the cars driven by the Super Stars of South Indian cinema and how these cars are indicative of their owner’s style and class.

Many cars may roam the streets but a Merc is like no other car and Mohanlal is seen as the incomparable Super Star of Malayalam movies.

The Porsche 911 is a two-door sports car made in 1963 in Stuttgart, Germany and has continuously remained in production for over 50 years. That’s consistency backed by solid performance – exact qualities of Tamil Super Star Cheeyan Vikram. Vikram entered the tamil film industry in the early 90s and after a slow start rose to super stardom with his films Sethu, Dhool and Saamy. He continues to produce blockbusters even after being in the industry for nearly 25 years and drives the Porsche 911 to announce his supremacy.

The Ferrari F430 burst into the car scene speed and power, backed by the impressive Ferrari family lineage. It was hailed as the Best Car in the World by Top Gear, this car zoomed from 0-60 kms in a mere 3.8 seconds. Telugu cinema’s young Super Star brigade boasts of many talented actors but none with the lineage of Naga Chaitanya – son of Nagarjuna and grand son of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. This young actor literally zoomed into Super Stardom with a streak of mega hit films and continues to build his presence into the Super Star league. Is it any wonder that he drives the Ferrari F430 then?

He chooses to play the roles of a hero, a villain or even just a support actor only for the pleasure of acting it. Versatile and trustworthy, much like the BMW Z4 he drives.
Kamalhasaan – Hummer H2
Would you be able to notice any other car on the road when there is a Hummer on it? The car is a giant built with power and the H2 can carry a truckload in weight. The actor who drives the Hummer H2 in the roads of Chennai is none other than Ulaga Nayagan Kamalhassan who is an actor par excellence. His dominance over the Tamil cinema continues unabated for over 50 years and he can pull a whole film just by himself as he proved in playing 10 different roles in the movie Dasavatharam. When Kamalhassan is on screen, no one else can catch your attention for his acting skills over shadows everyone else.
