Brezza breezes past competition
The Maruti Vitara Brezza has raced ahead of competition in the compact SUV segment, on the back of a strong demand growth in the segment.  In July 2016, Maruti sold 10,232 units of the Brezza as against 7,981 of Hyundai’s Creta, 4,885 of Ford’s Ecosport and 1,625 of Renault’s Duster.
Maruti Suzuki, usually known for small vehicles, has been pushing hard in the medium sized 6-10 lakhs category with its Baleno, Ciaz and Brezza. All three brands have been successfully taking up market share from the other automakers. The surge in demand has created a long wait for the cars to be delivered and the Maruti management is said to be working hard to speed up production and hasten delivery.
Maruti Suzuki is the largest contributor to the Japanese major Suzuki’s volumes and is assuming a very important role in the company’s global strategy. Suzuki is expected to bring in more investments into Maruti Suzuki, which will be seen introducing more variants in the middle and premium segments.
